About

cutmypicHello! My name is Andreea. I created this online reading journal to catalog my reading experience. This blog holds me accountable for my opinions on a book which motivates me to read carefully. I also use this platform to review incoming books, share my opinions, and track some of my thoughts on the profession of librarianship.

A little bit about me: I am a librarian. I currently work at small rare book library at the University of Toronto. Working with rare books has made me find the honest truth in the statement: “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

I raid bookstores everywhere I go, and I love recommending books to people (it gets out of hand sometimes). I’m a bit of a research nerd and like to throw myself into topics. I like to post both here and also on my YouTube channel (Infinite Text).

*The title of this blog is inspired by David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest — He is an author I’ve admired and his essays are extraordinary, but the length, (including footnotes, and endnotes) of Infinite Jest  has always made me want to call it ‘infinite text’ in conversation

Several excerpts from my reviews have been featured in print:

  1. You are obviously a very dedicated and enthusiastic reader! I loove reading, but don;t know that my energies would extend as far as yours 🙂 Thank you so much for the follow. I appreciate it.

  2. I noticed in my browsing that you have a whole group dedicated to reading Robyn Hobb’s books. I forced myself to read 2 or 3 of them. Although fascinating on one level, I found them really hard work. So I gave up.

    1. Thank you for your lovely comments. The Hobb-a-along group was started by someone else, but you can always participate as it is linked through goodreads. I find that a reading schedule and some thought provoking questions created by zealous fans really help with motivation, because when I saw how long the series was, I felt the same way as you. Also you are very welcome, your title got my attention right away “creating magic with words!”
